PRINTABLE.GALLERYのさまざまな可能性を探求します。

Akihiko Taniguchi
July 7, 2023 - until I feel better.
"The 'wisdom teeth' refers to the third molars that typically emerge later than other teeth. There are various theories regarding the origin of this peculiar
name, 'wisdom teeth.' One theory suggests that they are called 'wisdom teeth' because they come in without the person's parents knowing, often appearing during the late teens to early twenties. Another theory suggests that they were
named 'wisdom teeth' because in the past, parents would have passed away by that time. There is also a theory that they are called 'wisdom teeth' because they do not have primary teeth ('parent teeth') to replace and instead suddenly
appear. Wisdom teeth can be unfortunate teeth as they sometimes do not grow in some individuals, or they may not grow in straight and complete, often requiring extraction. Through the fusion of the motif of 'wisdom teeth' and the approach
to exhibiting through 3D printing, Taniguchi explores the various possibilities of the 3D PRINTABLE.GALLERY."

Flyer for "wisdom teeth" exhibition.
A flyer for the exhibition "Wisdom Teeth" will arrive at one of art museums.
Flyers for the exhibit have been placed in the flyer area of the museum.
A flyer is on the floor, with marks where someone stepped on it.
Someone takes the flyer to home and places it on the table.
Someone knocks over a mug on the table and spills coffee.
Someone wakes up with a smartphone alarm.
Someone boards a train and starts moving. The scenery visible through the front window remains in their memory for a while.
Someone gets off the train and heads towards the ticket gates. At that moment, they recall the ticket gates at the west exit of JR Iidabashi Station, a place they used to frequent in the past. However, their memories are hazy, and they can only recall them vaguely. They walk through the long sloping passage and emerge onto the bridge.
While on the way to the gallery, someone noticed many ginkgo leaves scattered along the roadside.
After a short walk, someone arrived at the gallery.
When someone entered the gallery, the reception counter came into view. There was a guestbook on the reception counter, and as they tried to write their name, they noticed a large fly resting on top of the guestbook.
Someone hears a noise from the ceiling and suddenly looks up. The ceiling is covered in tightly arranged small tiles, forming a grid-like pattern. There, another fly is perched. And suddenly, the fly spoke two numbers: "361,473,360"
Another fly landed nearby and also spoke the two numbers, "359,471,360" Someone who was observing this scene seemed to realize that these two numbers were coordinates indicating the location where the fly had landed.
A small note was posted on the wall. It served as the caption for a piece of art, indicating that the fly is part of a work titled "Descartes' Fly."
